Take It or Leave ItSpring 2012 Games
Take It or Leave It is a fun dice game that incorporates number, probability and strategy skills. Players are dealt four task cards that depict different color and number combinations of dice, plus an action card that allows for leeway (i.e., change one orange die to any number you want.)
A group of orange, blue and red dice are rolled into a common tray at the beginning of each round and each player picks one die per turn to try to satisfy one or more task cards.
Each task card is worth a different number of points based on difficulty. For example, a card that asks for one orange and one blue die is worth less than one that asks for a specific number and color combination. Players must take note of which dice other players pick up and often adjust which task cards they hope to satisfy mid-round. A player's unused dice count against his or her points at the end of a round. A round ends when either all dice have been selected, or all players have passed because they can't use them.
Take It or Leave It is trickier than it seems and requires patience and focus. It's a quick game to learn, it moves fast, and it plays well with mixed age groups and both small or large groups of players.
