Review:

Become acquainted with the characters of the Duck Duck Moose app world in Peek-A-Zoo. Upon opening the app, little ones will meet a cast of colorful animals as they shuffle across the screen to the tune of the app developer's trademark soothing string music. Skylar the Skunk, Sara the Seal, Polly the Penguin, and Squiggle the Squirgle introduce themselves in cute, not cloying, voices when tapped.

Once you have met all of the characters, click the arrow in the top right of the screen to enter the game. Each screen will show eight characters upon a simple background with a straightforward question. "Who's crying?", "Who is trying to hide?", and "Who is Charlee the Chicken?" are examples. Each question is read aloud, and children must tap on the correct character to move to the next screen. It's a charming way for children and parents to explore emotions, actions, colors, and animals together. Kids will also pick up a vocabulary of visual cues that might help with early picture book reading. They'll learn to recognize many common emotions (anger, sadness, surprise) and actions (crying, hiding, sleeping). Adorable sound effects round out the experience and keep it engaging.
