Learn to Catch Mini FootballFall 2011 Toys
My boys are huge football fans. Of course they want to play just like the pros, so when they saw the Franklin Learn to Catch Mini Football, they were beyond excited. They ripped open the box and immediately started practicing. The football is softer and smaller than a regular football, with material lining the outside. On each edge, the football is lined with soft, fuzzy "fur" that adheres to Velcro on the gloves for an almost guaranteed catch.
Kids that need to learn how to catch are typically around three to five years old (the suggested age on the box says 3+). The gloves are way too big even for my 8 year old, but he and his younger brothers had no issue with them being a bit large. Even though he already knows how to catch, he loves putting on the gloves and having the football stick to his hands. Each of them took turns practicing catching with the gloves on, and they came up with various games like seeing who could do one-handed, mid-air grabs. I would say they use them at least five times a day, and they seem sturdy enough to last, as long as we don't lose them.
This set is a great idea, and my kids loved it because it made them feel like professional football players. I would definitely recommend it to my friends with miniature football fans like mine.
