Road TripFall 2011 Music
The duo who call themselves Hullabaloo are Steve Denyes (Guitar, Vocals) and Brendan Kremer (Cajon, Vocals), who create what they call "Free-Range, Organic Kid-Folk." Road trip is their seventh album for children, and it uses the motif of going on an extended trip to showcase thirteen great and overwhelmingly positive, country-tinged songs. "Car Dance Song" celebrates the joys that the limited mobility of auto safety devices can provided, when looked at the right way. "10-4 Good Buddy" is an ode to big trucks and their drivers, while "Drive with Me" is a sweet call and response song that might become an instant in-car classic with your family. In fact, the entire CD is a must have for sing-along road trips.
A sure favorite with kids must be "Flying Toward the Light," a lovely ode to the insects that meet their demise on the car windshield at night. As with all trips, the journey ends with the familiar sentiment that it's "Good to Be Back Home." Denyes has a friendly and powerful voice that is reminiscent of Brad Paisley, while Kremer expertly plays a wooden percussion instrument called a cajon. The duo are joined on this album by the mighty playing of Dennis Caplinger on a host of stringed instruments, as well as a trio of lovely female singers.
This skillfully-recorded CD comes in eco-friendly packing, which includes the lyrics to all of the song.
