Humpty Dumpty Magazine
Spring 2011 MagazinesOffered by U.S. Kids, Humpty Dumpty is a bimonthly title for children aged five to seven, the second in U.S. Kids' series of three age bracketed titles. The content is straightforward and the design is welcoming. Each issue has three parts: I Can Read, Things to See, and I Can Do. In the sample issues we reviewed, the November/December issue I Can Do section, for example, includes Happy Hanukkah, a menorah coloring activity, and "Ready, Set, Create", instructions for crafting a candy cottage. Photos of reader "Ready, Set, Create" results are featured in monthly Things to See section, "Creative Kids". Reading material includes stories like "Where Did the Water Go?", which is paired with an activity that lets children decide whether water is being wasted or conserved in a set of four illustrations. Overall, Humpty Dumpty is a wholesome magazine for young readers.
