In his debut album, singer/songwriter and early childhood music educator Brett Rothenhaus gathers together 13 original songs for young children. Penning such catchy, upbeat, energetic songs as "Big Hug," "Jellyfish," "Zoo Zoo," and "Great Friends," he demonstrates his potential as a songwriter of quality children's music. His warm voice and very capable acoustic guitar playing reminds one of the early work of fellow New Yorker Paul Simon. Although Rothenhaus uses standard conventions such as kid's voices, old rock and roll melodies, sound effects and toy xylophones at the beginning of his songs, we're he'll learn to do without them as his career advances and his confidence develops.
